20/04 Rome, Italy

Today we woke up very early at 0730 as we still had not yet gone to other attractions, not only the Rome Forum and Plantine platform. We also had to go to Vatican because today was the Easter when the Jesus Christ reborned and there was a yearly celebration at the Vatican square hosted by the Pope. It was really a coincidence as we did not tend to plan to see the celebration. As it was held today, we must go there because it may be once in my life time.

We went to the Piazza Venerzia, where we could find the beautiful government building and other mounment' remains. Then, we went to Piazza Navona where a beautiful church, two fountains and one statue were located there.

The square was quite large and the fountains were very special. Some street painters were painting the tourists. Then, we went to nearby market where we saw different kinds of pasta, some were in different colors. It almost 1030 and We chose to go the Vatican. We went along the river and saw the St Angelo castle on the other side.

When we got closer to Vatican, more and more people were gathered near the square. We kept getting further inside the square to get a better position. However, it was still far away from the stage, where I could only see the Pope on the camera by zooming it to the Max.

They played the Catholic musics and they sang the believer sang in litalian. The atmosphere was really good. Although I did not understand the languages, I really enjoyed being part of the celebration here. The st Peter church was gorgeous and design was really very Rome. We stayed there till around 12am and the Pope came out with his car to wave his hands to the believers and I could took him only 2 photos only!!!

but I was already happy with that. We then left and there was a parade from the square till the end of the street. We went to the St Angelo Castle but it was €10 to get there and I was not interested in it.I like Germany castle more. I would rather pay €10 for food or sourvenirs.

There were many sourvenir shops and booths selling food or books.l and we bought some sourvenirs there. Then, we cross the bridge and went to another square at Pizza Popolo. On our way, we.bought ice creams. It was just 3€ for 3balls of ice cream. I bought pineapple, watermelon and green apply flair because I wanted to try more fruit flavor that couldn't easily be found in Hong Kong. I really liked it!!!

There were many people sitting in the square and we walked for a little uphill.

There was a Guy playing musics and some musics he played i also knew, which was The passenger-let her go. We could listen live musics which was cool. We saw the square which was nice.

We then left to the Trevi fountain, which was second famous in Rome. This fountain was also one of the scene in 衝上雲宵1.

The fountain was really amazing and full of people. It was quite big and well designed and sculptured. I took a Polaroid pictures there and I made a wish and threw the Swiss France left into the pool to try to make it come true. The water was also very clean and cool. My hips and my bags got a bit wet when I sat next to it. it was almost 1600.

We went to the Rome forum and Palentine hill. This place was very large. Rome Forum was a place where the politcal, economic and cultural events occur

There were a lot of marbles, statues and the remains of the old buildungs. We did not do much homework to know the history behind so we looked at every signs introducing the history behind. We even listened to the English tutor guides standing near us. We climbed up to the Palentine hill which was not very high, where we could see the whole Rome forum.

We tried to use our imagination to put all the puzzles together to try to visualize them in our mind, which was really big and amazing. We spent almodtv1.5 hours there

and after that, we went to the Republican square and there was a old church.

The priest inside was holding some Catholic event. He gave a speech and later sang songs with the public. I thought should be worshipping the reborn of Jesus Christ. The church was magnificent.

The paintings on the walls and the dome was really beautiful.

We went to the train station to buy stamps for postcards and backed to hostel to take a little break then went to the Trevi fountain to have our last supper in Rome. but before dinner, we went to supermarket to buy slices of bread, some biscuits for tomorrow breakfast and i bought a coke too.

We chose a restaurant called Al Picchio. The food there was not very expensive. One lesson in Venice that we had to choose some restuarants that were near the tourist attractions and not operated by Asian people. We ordered a pizza with blue cheese and smoked Ham (10€), Lasagne(8.5€), Tortellini(€8.5) and I ordered a cappccino (€3.5) too!! The cappccino was really creamy and I loved it a lot!!!! I hadn't tried blue cheese here and in hi as well and I really wanted to order something special and I hadn't eaten tortellini in hk as well.

The lasagne was delicious. It had a lot of cheese within each pasta. With the sauce, I really loved it. The tortellini was also very good too. I liked its sauce. The pizza I could say it was perfect. The blue cheese was extremely delicious. The cheese flavor was very rich. It was well cooked and it was much crispy than the one in Venice. The smoked Ham tasted really good with the blue cheese. Overall, I really satisfied with the food. When I got back to Germany, I must use the oven more to cook pasta.

I order a creme Caramel Pudding (€4.5) and Tommy ordered Tirmisu.

My dessert was fantastic and I hadn't eaten Caramel Pudding for ages and I really loved it. His tirmisu was also delicious too. I finished my meal with my last drink of my capaccino. Today's dinner was totally pefect. It was around €22 which was really reasonable. We then walked back to hostel to make sandwiches. We tore each piece of meat and cheese into 2 pieces to make more sandwiches and I made 6 sandwiches. We then slept.

Italy was a country really full of color of religious. Many buildings had their own history and were the remains of the very old building many years ago. On this ltaly trip, I experience different aspects of ltaly like cultures, religious, histories and food. Roman empire was a very powerful empire and its victory and the way people worship its victory and their pride in the emperor and empire were all vividly revealed in the heritages. The celebration at Vatican square crowded with people with a lot of passion, and faith in Catholism let me experience how the Catholics put much importance to their religious. With the perfect traditonal typical ltalian food marking the end of the trip, I feel no regret. Italy, Ciao!
