Once I got off, I looked for the locker inside the station, which was €4 and it was rental but not deposit. Because I was broke in this trip, I gave up using their locket but decided to carry my fucking backpacks for one whole day. Then I went to tourist information centre to grab a map which was 50cent. With a map, I could plan where to go more systematically. But, first I went to rewe to buy the cheapest coke first for this whole day and started my city walk.
But, the Altes Stathaus was being renovated that I couldn't even look at its appearance. Unlucky me. I also wanted to go to a museum of contemporary history of Germany which showed the post-WWII history of Germany society, economics and even sports but all museums were closed on Monday except the Beethoven museum. Unlucky me again.
Then I go to Sterntor which was the wall of an old tower. Then I went inside the church called Minster Basilica with Cloister and there were some people singing some songs of Cathedral religious.
I closed my eyes and let the melody comes into my ears. There were two heads of scrulptures near the church.
Then I went to Marktplatz where the rathaus was located. The market there was like paradeplatz.
Next spot is another church but it was again closed on Monday... Then I went to Beethloven Museum. Originally I couldn't find where it was because it just looked a normal building on the street.
The student ticket was €4.5. I put my bags in their lockers and my shoulders feel relaxing. There were 12 rooms in total introducing the bilography of Beethloven and photos were not allowed to be taken there-.-. but you could not stop me taking photos.
It displayed different musical instruments he had used before like violin, pianos and his composition works. This museum helped me get to know his musical life more and admire his contribution to music. I spent 1 hour something there.
Then I walked to the water promenade which was nice but not as nice as those in Koln and Düsseldorf since it was still a relatively small city.
Then, I went to the University of Bonn where had a large piece of grassland right in front of the university and many students were sitting on it. It is like a backyard of the school. I got inside the school and the campus was quite small. My University was much better. Some of the places were again being renovated now.
so I took U bahn to the main station and then tram to Heerstrasse. This street was beautiful because there were purple/pink flowers on both sides of the street.
When I was taking pictures, a German guy with a very professional camera came to ask me for a favor, which was to let he take pictures of me when I was taking pictures. That's mean I took photos and he stood behind me and took photos of me. The photos was very beautiful and undoubtedly better than my photos. And I found he worked in a newspaper. I guess he was trying to introduce this street to visitors on the newspaper. Hope I could appear in the newspaper one day. I don't mind only my back was shown on the newspaper. I gave him my email to ask him to send me back the pictures. Hope he really would do it. I am so lucky to meet an news reporter.
Then I took the U bahn to Bundesviertel. Because almost all museum were closed today, then I just took some pictures of the museum and buildings.
Time was running out and I went back to city centre to have my "dinner" which was dorum and a cup of ice cola. I ordered the food amd drink in German. So glad he could understand my German.
Then I went to hauptbahn to take train back to Mannheim. But my ICE suddenly was cancelled! Fuck! I needed to take a slower train MRN to Koblenz first and to Mainz and then to Mannheim. I really didn't figure out why they could cancel my train in the last minute. I was very angry because too many unlucky things happened on me. I arrived at Mannheim at 0030 but I could arrive at 1115 if nothing went wrong.
So far, this trip was my first trip that I travel alone all the time.
Although sometimes I felt alone, the things that I had learned like searching tourist sites for myself and handling difficulties and the experience that only alone traveller could get were totally worth it. Hope next trip I would be more lucky.
